One thing that is true about me is that I interviewed Lionel Richie for the February issue of Spin. (The link is here.)
Another thing that is true is that my favorite jam in 1981 just might have been “Lady (You Bring Me Up),” off Lionel’s final album as a member the Commodores.
One thing that is not true: Lionel was the model for Lion-O, the leader of the ThunderCats.
Anyway, Lionel has a surprisingly good sense of humor about himself. But I guess you’d have to if your photo album included this bad boy:
WHY I’M ANGRY TODAY
An image of Louie Anderson’s fat face just sprung into my head.
So the question remains: Who is the elusive Thundercats ho?
Cheetara?
I just read on Wikipedia that there were actually four (and maybe even more) characters on the show who came from the catlike race called the Snarfs: the annoying Snarf himself, whose real name was Osbert; Snarfer, a Scrappy-Doo-style nephew of Snarf; and two dudes name Snarf Eggbert and Snarf Oswald. Wow. I hereby proclaim that I am going to name one of my future offspring Snarf Sellers. Or maybe Lionel Sellers.
“…weighs in on Good Charlotte, Journey, and how easy Sunday morning really is.”
haha. That’s just good journalism!
Lionel Richie is a god among men.
