If you are in the New York City area tonight, I highly recommend attending the Little Gray Book lecture, which will take place at Galapagos in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It’s a mere $5, and if you’ve never been to one of the lectures before, your mind will be blown away, as if you’d eaten peyote. (Note: The effect is counteracted if you actually do eat peyote before or during the lecture; after’s fine.) The host, Mr. John Hodgman, is a sexy blend of Garrison Keillor from radio’s A Prairie Home Companion and Simon McCorkindale from TV’s Manimal; guests, who will do insane stunts like stand up on a stage in front of an awed crowd, include Jon Langford (of the Mekons) and Sarah Vowell (not of the Mekons). Sure, it happens in Williamsburg, which is, like, so over, but I’ll be there, hopefully not nursing the cold that I seem to have come down with yesterday.

And now, please go check out my pal Adam Mazmanian’s brand new blog, because he just moved to D.C. and needs tips on where to find Jenna Bush at (to quote Roger Dodger) “winning time.”

WHY I’M ANGRY TODAY
Fox is preempting Arrested Development again this Sunday.
